This record has been slowly forming for a while now, mostly through moments where I’ve been trying to make sense of growing up and becoming the person you’re meant to be. A lot of these songs come from that strange in-between space where you start looking back at your life with a little more perspective — realizing that even the complicated or difficult parts helped shape who you are. There’s a lot of reflection in these songs, but also humor and irony — the kind that shows up when you look back on things that once felt heavy and realize how much you’ve

This record has been slowly forming for a while now, mostly through moments where I’ve been trying to make sense of growing up and becoming the person you’re meant to be. A lot of these songs come from that strange in-between space where you start looking back at your life with a little more perspective — realizing that even the complicated or difficult parts helped shape who you are. There’s a lot of reflection in these songs, but also humor and irony — the kind that shows up when you look back on things that once felt heavy and realize how much you’ve grown through them.

Writing these songs has felt a lot like documenting that process. Some of them are very vulnerable, and some of them lean into storytelling in a more playful way, but they’re all rooted in trying to turn personal experiences into something that feels honest and human. What’s really important to me about this project is the idea of building it with the people who care about the music. Instead of waiting until everything is finished and polished, I wanted to invite people into the process while the songs are still becoming what they’re going to be. That’s why the album is being funded song by song — so each track has its own little moment to exist and be supported.

To me, this project is really about taking stories that might have felt isolating at the time and turning them into something shared. If someone hears one of these songs and feels a little less alone in their own experiences, then the record has already done what I hoped it would do. And the fact that people are willing to help spark the songs into existence is something I’m incredibly grateful for.
